I was born to love you

Since it's the love month, I'd like to share to you one of my most favorite love songs of all time. It's George Duke's "Born to love you". I first heard it when I was still a DJ for a Jazz radio station here in our city. It's actually a love song, about a person who is falling in love with someone, yet he is hesitant, because of the many pains that he has gone through before...My favorite line from the song is the second verse.

Such a lovely face with a warm and tender smile, though I want you so found in deep inside keep saying..."don't trust your heart this time", could my mind be playing games...Am I so betrayed that my heart and mind can never be the same....

I hope you find delight in this beautiful song, and you'd finally found the one that you can say..."I was born to love you..."

Jump Shot

It's not a kind of basketball shot or something. It's one craze that me and friends are addicted to. We call it picture-taking, and it's not just an ordinary picture-taking. This one is really really tiring and it takes a lot of patience, a handful of energy, and timing. Timing is needed specially if the camera your using ain't high tech enough to catch that intricate, most important site. Of course, what I'm referring to is having our pictures taken while jumping up up and a way. I'll show you some pics, that I myself took. It was so fun, one jump ain't enough.

The Lost Generation

My boss let us check this wonderful video blog on Youtube. You have to pay attention. The message of this video blog is so striking and the way it was conveyed is just so amazing. How I wish I could have written this myself. It's simply astonishing. Check it out.

A grammatically challenged love story

This funny love story was published on the Philippine Daily Inquirer in 2007 and has circulated in e-mails all over. I lost my copy of this, since I left my previous company. Good thing it is still in the web. This is specifically made for Filipinos. Really funny.

This affectionate parody of English as spoken and written by Pinoys/nays has been in wildfire circulation on the Net among kababayan with memories of the Old School.

A LOVE STORY

We've been friends since a long time ago. We come from the same alma mother. Actually, our paths crossed one time on another. But it's only now that I gave him a second look. I realize that beauty is in the eyes. The pulpbits of my heart went fast, really fast. Cute pala siya!

And then, he came over with me. He said, "I hope you don't mine. Can I take your number?" Nag-worry ako. What if he doesn't give it back? He explained naman na it's so we could keep intact daw. Sabi ko, connect me if I'm wrong but are you asking me ouch? Nabigla siya. Sagot niya, "The!" Aba! Parang siya pa ang galit! Persona ingrata!!! Ang kapal niya! I cried buckles of tears.

Na-guilty yata siya. Sabi niya, “Isipin mo na lang na this is a blessing in the sky.” Irregardless daw of his feelings, we'll go ouch na rin. Now we're so in love! Mute and epidemic na ang past. Thanks God we swallowed our fried. Kasi, I'm 33 na and I'm running out the time.

After 2 weeks, he plopped the question. "Will you married me?" I'm still in a state of shocked. Kasi mantakin mo naman, when its rain, it's really fours talaga! This is true good to be true. So siyempre, Isaid yes. Love is a many splendor, di ba?

Pero nung inaayos ko na ang aming kasal, everything swell to pieces. Nag-di-dinner kami noon nang biglang sa harap ng aming table, may babaeng humirit ng, "Well, well, well. Look do we have here." What the fuss... The nerd ng babaeng yon! She said they were still too on.

So I told her, "Whatever is that means, cut me some slacks, ‘no!" I didn't want this to get our hand kaya I had to sip it in the bud. She accused me of steeling her boyfriend. The nerd talaga! Ats if! I don't never want to portrait the role of the other woman. Gosh, tell her to the marines! I told her, "Please, you should to mine your own business!"

Who would believed her anyway? Dahil it's not my problem anymore but her problem anymore. Hmphf. Tumigil na rin siya ng panggugulo. Everything is coming up daisies! I'm so happy. Even my boyfriend said liketwice. He's so supportive. Sabi niya, "Look at is this way. She's out of our lives."

Kaya I advised you - take the risk! You can never can tell. Just burn the bridge when you get there. Life is shorts. If you make a mistake, well, just pray for the internal and external repose of your soul. I second emotion.

The Tomato Story

This is one of my favorite stories...And yes I got this in an e-mail

A Jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at Microsoft.
The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

"You are employed" he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email".

"I'm sorry", said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job."

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.
He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours,
he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times,
and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday.

Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US ...
He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.
When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email.
The man replied,"I don't have an email."
The broker answered curiously, "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!" The man thought for a while and replied, "Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!"

Moral of the story
Moral 1
Internet is not the solution to your life.
Moral 2
If you don't have Internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.
Moral 3
If you received or read this message,
you are closer to being a office boy/girl,than a millionaire..........

7 reasons not to mess with children

I got this from e-mail. 7 funny stories and I'm convince, we shouldn't mess with kids or else...

Reason #1
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

Reason #2
A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like" Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

Reason #3
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to "honour" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

Reason #4
One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"
Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

Reason #5
The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
"Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."

Reason #6
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face."
"Yes," the class said.
"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted,"Cause your feet ain't empty."

Reason #7
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
"Take only ONE . God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

The FHM 2009 Calendar Fiasco

I've been receiving so many views and traffic, searching for the latest FHM Calendar for 2009. Too bad, it was actually a joke and it was not real. I don't actually have a copy of the calendar yet and I don't even have pictures of it. The blog entry I've posted last month was actually more of a joke, that circulated in the e-mails and I posted it here in my blog.

I don't know, but the 2009 calendar edition is so hard to find on the internet, and I've been looking for it myself for a month now (I think there's no FHM Calendar for 2009). Fortunately, while searching , here's what I've found...Twelve gorgeous models, 12 different months, one magazine, one calendar, and it's not FHM but it's Maxim Calendar Girls 2009!

They are:

January Girl - Cherry Kubota
February Girl - Danielle Castano
March Girl - Nadine Wischer
April Girl - Anneliese Poggensee
May Girl - Princess Tinkerbell Snell
June Girl - Evgenia Nazarova
July Girl - Tisha Silang
August Girl - Wella Khonghun
September Girl - Olga Torovik
October Girl - Joanne Muller
November Girl - Pathra Cadness

It's Obama's Inauguration - No Calls?

It's 11PM in the Philippines, I'm in bed texting colleagues, asking if there will be call outs for today. Infront of me is the boobtube handing me out images at the other side of the world, as people there anticipating, in high spirits, waiting for history to unfold. It's their President's inauguration. Well, I'm not really into current affairs, esp. World affairs, so it's quite weird for me to be watching a newscast at this time of the day.

I'm actually watching the preparation of President Barrack Obama's inaguaration rites, and as far as I know, it was 8 or 9 AM in Washington DC, then when I was eagerly waiting for another good news. NO CALL OUTS. That's what I've been hoping for, and I was checking out if it would translate to NO WORK, as well.

Unfortunately, Obama's magic did not made wonders for me at the time being. We were still made to report and make calls. Too bad!

I wasn't able to catch Obama's oathtaking and I wasn't able to take a deep rest, from the stressful world of work.

We'll we bugged out some Americans, selling something that they'd probably need in this tough times. According to my agents, most of them received some of the most irate responses they've ever had in their entire life today. They were told that they were interrupting a historical milestone. Well our agents were calling out, while Obama was on the boobtube and taking an oath to become the 44th President of the world's most powerful nation.

We'll I missed out the fun, and even annoyed some Obama fanatics in the process, but life must go on. We have to make a living. I'd probably open youtube and check out, Obama's rise to power.

The beautiful ones

There are just special people in our lives that we meet at some point and who will capture all of our senses...melt our stone-cold hearts...tickle our emotions and no matter how we try, we can't just let go of them. I call them the beautiful ones...

They are beautiful, and that beauty lure us to them like a magnet...It will make us crave for more and it will hook us for a moment in time...

Unfortunately, we can't just have them...Even if we kiss them, get physical with them at some point...we still can't be with them, well we can always shower them with gifts and all the money in the world, but we're not sure though if they like us because of who we are or just because we gave them those gifts.

This 1997 cover of Mariah and Dru Hill, I believe captures all the emotions that we all feel, whenever there's someone who we love so much but just can't reciprocate the love that we offer (maybe not love, maybe we just like them, or we just so obsess)...Their beautiful being just strikes and the moment your hit, you just feel so helpless...And that leads to so many hurts and pain. This song in itself is a torture...It is 6 minutes and 50 seconds of raw emotions, the vocals is like blended with so much depression and it's like wailing and begging for love at the same time.

My favorite line in the song, the beautiful ones...they hurt you everytime...tells us that most of the time, while these beautiful beings become a welcome sight, a wonderful gift that we all love to receive in our lives, they also become the biggest burden that we have...You love them so much...it hurts...The saddest part is, they hurt you, even without them knowing it...Well this one is specially dedicated to Alec....

Everybody's in Dubai

It's an open city and there are just so many opportunities that awaits those who have been working hard all their life to be the best in school and in their field of work.

That's how my friend describe Dubai. If you have all the qualifications and if you are in for an adventure of a lifetime, Dubai is the place to be. As far as I'm concern, more or less 10 people that I know have been to Dubai, in less than a year to work and find a greener pasture. As I browse my friendster and facebook account, I just can't help but notice their smiles. As I count, I have more or less 10 friends from grade school, high school and from work who have chosen to work in that place. And I'd say they seem to have a great time there.

The architecture and the landscape of Dubai is truly breathtaking. They say, it is really really amazing in person and a tourism haven indeed. The only problem there is the climate. It can be very very hot and sometimes very very cold. The extremities is truly remarkable.

Anyway, I'd like to share to you the adventures of my friends in this new paradise, they call Dubai. Some pics were taken in Kish and the other drop off area, for those who have expired visa.

As for me, I would want to visit the place, maybe as a tourist. But for now, I'm contented seeing my friends having the times of their lives in this middle east haven.

Daydream

I've always been a daydreamer, a slacker, if you like, but it has always been one of my favorite hobby (if you can call it one). I even like Mariah Carey's 1996 album daydream so much and in my imeem's music list, most of it are about my fake realities, hope floats and all the things that I'm not.

When I daydream, I usually have a concrete story. I know all the details. I create my own script. I create the beginnings and the endings. There I find solace. There I visualize a reality so close yet untangible.

Sometimes, I find it very hard to stop daydreaming. I know it's unproductive, I know it's not really healthy to do it like all the time. But I guess, it's my only way out, my getaway. How I wish I could live out all of my daydreams.

Nothing to write about

I just can't think of anything to write about. I'm not even interested in blogging. It's been days now that I have not updated anything in my blog. I just can't think of anything, or maybe the tons of workload that I face everyday in the office just caught me up. I could hardly breathe just thinking about the things that I have to do everyday. I used to have a much more complacent workload. With the new account coming in...whoooahhh...it's been hell.

Anyway, this might just be a phase. Hopefully I can adjust to it.Soon. Well for now, I'll try to look for some inspiration and get back into blogging again.

Back to reality

Just got back to work after the long holidays.

Honestly, I still don't want to go back to work. It's just so hard getting up early in the morning especially that it's been raining like cats and dogs lately. It just makes you sleepy and at the same time it's a pain commuting at these times.

So what can I do? I'll probably just go through the usual routine monitor calls, coach agents, check what's lacking in our accounts, updates, updates, writing e-mails etc. etc.

And whoallaaa, we have a new account as well. Gone are the holidays. My friends have fled. Party is over. The food trippin'.

Got to go back to reality...And I have to face it. Time to work.

I dreamt of a White Christmas

I dreamt about it. Conceptualized it. Executed it. And it became a reality.

"A White Christmas" - that was GCeS's year end party theme for this year and as far as the "oohhhsss and the ahhhhsss" that we received from the audience, this party has indeed exceeded expectations.

It was Dec. 22 when GCeS's 3rd floor were flocked by it's employees in their best white (or least with white accent) outfit. It's a house-fashion party, where we check out the best of the best among the employees in terms of fashion and glam.

Aside from the house party, the highlight of the show was the Fashion Icon contest, Dip and Grind Ledge Dancing Contest, Bodyshots and the pink-pageant Queen of the Night.

My New Year's Resolution

It's 2009, a brand new year. Well new year has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year.

For those who are taking life seriously,it's a time to reflect on the changes we want to make, which we think could help us out in carrying out a great year ahead.

Well I have always skipped new year's resolutions. They say it's a bad habit for we will just break it anyway. But I've realized that making one is still essential for it would at least make you better and a little remedy to our ills could go a long way. Anyway, here are those resolutions that I would like to get by the whole year through:

1. Be fit as ever. I know I've been eating a lot lately and I have not been looking into my diet. But starting today, I'll be walking more, spend at least 15 minutes (3x a week)for dancing as a form of exercise. That way I could be fit and I could take away all those extra bulges.
2. Be serious about my work. That means I would have to take a closer at my monitoring and coaching, since I work as a QA Specialist. I think would also have to learn more about excel and other data analysis to be more effective. Being keen about deadlines is also very important, so that I would be a role model to others.
3. Try to become a well-read person. I believe being knowledgeable is very important specially in this information age, but we oftentimes neglect reading and being informed by checking out what's happening and the latest. I'll try to be more updated and at the same time gain know-how from these reading by paying more attention to significant articles and papers. I think it would widen my knowledge and broaden my perspective about life and of the world.
4. Accumulate wealth.I know this one is really hard to achieve, but I'll make a way for this to happen. I'm not getting any younger and I want to achieve something by being able to help out my family in so many ways. "Money is not everything" I know, but it would really change and create so many things. I'll find a way so that I would be able to give back to my family, esp. to my mom and my dad, give them the best life that they deserve.
5. I'll take care of myself. Pampering myself, being vain and giving something out of my salary for me alone, would be a very healthy exercise that would hopefully make me strive harder and would help me view life in a more positive way. I would pamper me and take care of me so that I would be able to give out more to my love ones.
